On Saturday, February 2, 2013, Newtown Hook & Ladder conducted a Fill the Boot style fund drive to raise funds for the Newtown Police Officers who are still out of work following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th. Members were able to raise over $22,000 in 6 hours. Hook and Ladder would like to thank all those that supported our efforts. We stand together with the Newtown Police Department and all others affected by the events of 12/14. We are Newtown Strong!

Newtown Hook and Ladder is located at 45 Main St., Newtown, Connecticut, in northern Fairfield County. We serve a population of approximately 27,000 residents, covering almost 64 square miles. Newtown Hook and Ladder, one of five independent fire companies in town, provides fire protection and advanced rescue to the town of Newtown.
Newtown Hook and Ladder is the oldest fire department in the town, with its beginnings in the early 1800's. In 1883, a state charter was granted and our first apparatus was purchased.
We are an all-volunteer fire department. Our extremely dedicated department personnel are from all walks of life - from students to corporate leaders - all concerned residents of the community, just like you.
