Wednesday, February 26, 2014 just after 12 noon Newtown Hook and Ladder with Dodgingtown F.D. to assist responded to a residence on Boggs Hill Rd. for an automatic fire alarm. Engines 112, 111 and Ladder Truck 114 responded. On arrival department firefighters found smoke in the home from a closed damper above the fireplace. The fire in the fireplace was extinguished and removed from the residence. The building was checked for any additional fire as well the chimney was checked for problems and the house ventilated of smoke. Crews were on scene for approximately 40 minutes total.
