When finished, this will be the Antiques Room, where we will store our antique fire equipment – some of which you may have seen in the Labor Day parade – as well as other assorted memorabilia.
The exterior of our building is moving toward completion. The masonary crew from LRM Inc. is working on the stone facing for the first two bays. Interior work continues for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire sprinklers and alarm.
Newtown Hook and Ladder is located at 12 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Connecticut, in northern Fairfield County. We serve a population of approximately 27,000 residents, covering almost 64 square miles. Newtown Hook and Ladder, one of five independent fire companies in town, provides fire protection and advanced rescue to the town of Newtown.
Newtown Hook and Ladder is the oldest fire department in the town, with its beginnings in the early 1800’s. In 1883, a state charter was granted and our first apparatus was purchased.
We are an all-volunteer fire department. Our extremely dedicated department personnel are from all walks of life – from students to corporate leaders – all concerned residents of the community, just like you.
