On March 16 at 2018 hours, Hook and Ladder Engine 111, Engine 1 and Ladder 114 along with Hawleyville and Sandy Hook FD’s responded to 72 Taunton Lake Rd for a report of a structure fire.  Chief 101 arrived on scene and found smoke showing from the eaves and roof of a 2,400 square foot Boy Scout Camp Lodge.  Upon conducting a walk around of the building, flames were showing from a second floor window.  The remaining 3 companies were dispatched for tankers as well as Southbury FD for their Rapid Intervention Team.  The fire was quickly contained to the room of origin and attic area due to an aggressive interior attack in conjunction with vertical ventilation.

In total 2 lines were stretched and operated and two water supply fill points were established using a hydrant at the corner of Castle Hill Rd and Taunton Lake Rd as well as the boat launch on Taunton Lake Rd.  Members operated on scene for approximately 2 hours with a total of 40 personnel.
